Robespierre followed a policy of severe control and punishment. During the “region of terror”, the people who were against the republic considered as the enemies and they were punished by guillotined.

After the fall of the monarchy, the “French revolutionary politicians” believed that there was a need for a stable government to suppress chaos. Under this, in the Convention 1793, Jacobins established a revolutionary tribunal. Under this, a 9-member committee has been formed for common security.

Robespierre became part of this committee. The General Security Committee started to manage internal police in the country. This was a period called terror reign. In it, it came out strictly with all the factions who were against the revolutionary government.
