Rohan's mother is 26 years older than him.The product of their ages (in year) 3 years from now be 360.We would like to find Rohan's present age.

Let the present age of Rohans be x year's .....

And mother age be = ( x + 26 ) year

So : AFTER 3 YEAR'S

Rohan age = ( x + 3 ) year's

Mother's age = [( x + 26 + 3 )] year's

====> ( x + 29 ) year's

According to the condition

( x + 3 ) × ( x + 29 ) = 360

===> x² + 29x + 3x + 87 = 360

===> x² + 29x + 3x + 87 - 360 = 0

===> x² + 32x - 273 = 0

Thus the required quadratic equation is

x² + 32x - 273 = 0

x² - 7x + 39x - 273 = 0

x ( x - 7 ) + 39 ( x - 7 )

( x - 7 ) ( x + 39 ) = 0

if x - 7 = 0 and x + 39 = 0

So x = 7 and x = - 39( minus is neglected )

So : x = 7

Rohan present age is 7 year .........

Rohan mother age ( x + 29 ) = 36
