When the common salt is dissolved in the graduated cylinder full of water, the level doesn’t decrease.

The liquid molecules are not bounded by string force of attraction as in the solids and there are many intermolecular spaces present in the mix.

Salt gets adjusted into the vacant space and prevents the level from rising.

✔There will not be any change in the level of water are we can say that he water level will not rise up because when the salt was added to water, it broke into small pieces and occupied interparticular spaces present between the molecules of water.

✔This activity also proves that matter is particulate in nature.
