Rohit purchased 300 shares of face value Rs. 10 at Rs. 5 premium. he had to pay 0.5% brokerage. how much total amount did he spend ?

Number of shares = 300

Face value = Rs 10

Market value = Rs 15

brokerage % = 0.5%

(I) Invesment = Number of shares × Market value

                     =   300 × 15

                     = Rs 4500

(ii) Brokerage = Number of shares × brokerage %× Face value

                       = 300 × 0.5 ×10

                       = Rs 1500

Total Amount he spend = Rs. ( 4500 + 1500 )

                                        = Rs. 6000
