Answer:

Decomposers feed on dead things: dead plant materials such as leaf litter and wood, animal carcasses, and feces. They perform a valuable service as Earth's cleanup crew. Without decomposers, dead leaves, dead insects, and dead animals would pile up everywhere.....

Answer:

breakdown dead organisms and other organic waste, ex: some bacteria and fungi

they are an important part of the nitrogen and carbon cycles

in the nitrogen cycle, decomposers breakdown proteins in dead organisms and stuff like urea in waste to form ammonia (ammonia is then converted to nitrates by nitfifying bacteria; nitrates are then absorbed by plants to make proteins)

in the carbon cycle, they breakdown carbon compunds in dead/waste organic matter and use it in respiration to produce CO2

hope you understand...
