Education is the only barrier dividing tranquility and chaos.

It is not a coincidence that countries having high HDI values also have high literacy rates.

I have a friend who went to school with me. I must state that schooling from a Christian Brothers Institution is not at all cheap.
Nevertheless, this friend of mine has a sister.
The sad part being, his sister used to attend a regional and unaffiliated school.

Intrigued by the disparity, I asked my friend's parents, why they were being partial to their son.
To my surprise, they said that daughters are not meant to be educated. They are meant to get married and paid dowry for.

Do you think this kind of culture prevails in an educated society? I say no. Moreover, they are not the only parents holding these obnoxious principles.
We are taught in school to treat everybody equally. To respect every person irrespective of his/her caste, creed or sex. These values are supposed to be imprinted on us, by our education system.
