Role of education in removing social inequality

Yes but it depends on what you become educated in. Education can give someone the tools to function in the society that those tools are useful in. But educated people aren’t automatically intelligent people, just educated. What I mean by that is, sometimes you may know the facts but you don’t have the mind to analyze things on your own, extrapolate unique or interesting thoughts of your own and thus communicate them to another in a conversation. I’m sure we’ve ALL seen lots of people like that: educated but uninteresting or unintelligent in a broad sense.
Anyhow. There are LOTS of smart intelligent people who didn’t get formal educations who are able to function well in society. Bravo for them! Education simply gives one SOME tools to function better as well communicate in a way to impress others and compete in a market designed to pit citizens against one another for economic equity and survival. Education also provides a degree for institutions to validate your ability to do something and thus consider hiring you because of that education. Even though someone else might be just as qualified, since the system is DESIGNED this way, it behooves folks to consider conforming into this system by garnering the education one needs to compete and survive within it. Really, that’s all I’m saying. Sometimes it provides knowledge, other times it provides tools and can provide the paperwork for job qualifications which can reduce inequality for a person because they then have the tools to compete in said society. Doing so can then help them survive, thrive and reduce poverty or inequality if those are applicable. Whereas no education reduces one’s opportunities to compete in said society/market and thus, pull oneself out of the situation of inequality they might be in.
Hope that makes sense.
