The garment industry employs around 1.5 million people (K. M. F. Hasan et al. 2016), most of them located in Dhaka, which Hasan et al. 2016). The presence of good economic and social conditions in Dhaka coupled with poor economic conditions (particularly landlessness) and the lack of nonagricultural jobs in the poor rural areas of Bangladesh has pushed and continues to push the rural population to the city for better employment opportunities. .
