Drug dealers have become more ingenious and cunning n luring school children into their web of addiction. They package the drugs disguised as sweets and other confectionery. This has made it extremely easy for the peddlers to sell to unsuspecting students.
Students play a critical role in the eradication of drugs at school and at home. Students need to first learn the dangers and the effects of using drugs. They should also be taught how to identify the various kinds of drugs that are abused.
Experimentation is one of the reasons often given by students who are caught using drugs. Students should ensure that they do not experiment with any sort of drug. This will ensure that the student is not hooked to any drug.Some hard drugs such as heroin and cocaine have been proven to be extremely addictive.
Students should immediately report suspected drug use to the school administration. Early detection of drug use can enable the school administration to deal decisively and effectively with a drug problem before it escalates. Students should also report any suspicious person seen idling within the school grounds.
