Roll the fruit (lemon) under the palm of your hand to soften
it up without breaking its skin. Insert the two different
metallic strips, a few centimetres apart, into the lemon. Let
them not touch the bottom or the skin of the fruit. Now use
two pairs of cleaned up connecting wires/leads. Connect
them to one metal plate each, as shown, and then to the
torch bulb/LED. Observe if the bulb/LED glows!
Try repeating this activity using some other vegetables/
fruits (potato, bottlegourd, tomato, orange, etc.). Make a
list of the fruits/vegetables for which the set-up works!
