“Roman Sculptures" The fascination of the Roman with portraits started when wax molds of the face of the deceased were used to remember their late loved ones. These were called Sculpted Portraits. Stone and marble were soon used due to its durability and permanence. Skilled artists were in demand and commissioned to create these artworks. Roman sculptures were more sculpted to be more realistic . The purpose of many Roman portraits was used as a remembrance of the subject. Hence, the individual facial features and expressions were needed to capture the character of the person being sculpted. If the Greek used their sculptures to inspire; the Romans used theirs to remember. (Concha, Ganzon tungala and fulgencio 2016)
