The value of \frac{\sqrt{12} }{2} is equal to 1.732.

• Let us first proceed only with the numerator. \sqrt{12} can be written as \sqrt{2 . 2 . 3}, as 12 can be factorised into 2 × 2 × 3.

\sqrt{2. 2. 3} can be further split into \sqrt{2} . \sqrt{2} . \sqrt{3}.

[ Using the property √ab = √a × √b ]

• Now, \sqrt{2}. \sqrt{2} . \sqrt{3} = (\sqrt{2})^{2} . \sqrt{3}

= 2 . \sqrt{3}

[ Using the property, (\sqrt{a})^{2}  = a^{2}]

• Now, \frac{\sqrt{12} }{2} can be re-written as\frac{2 . \sqrt{3} }{2}   .

\frac{2. \sqrt{3} }{2}  = \sqrt{3}  \ (\frac{2}{2} \ gets\ cancelled)

• The value of \sqrt{3} is equal to = 1.732

• Therefore, the value of\frac{\sqrt{12} }{2} = 1.732
