Rough surfaces, such as frosted glass, kitchen
tiles, rough paper and cloth, reflect light in all
directions. This is because light rays are reflected
off the rough surface at different angles. This
is called diffuse or irregular reflection. In the
diffuse a reflection, clear and sharp image is not
formed.

Answer:

(a) A regular reflection takes place on a polished wooden table because its surface is smooth.

(b) A diffused reflection takes place on a chalk powder because its surface is uneven.

(c) Card board surface has minute irregularities on it, so it will have a irregular reflection.

(d) Marble floor with water spread over acts as a surface for a regular reflection as it will act like a plane surface.

(e) Mirror has a regular reflection, Its surface is also shiny and has smooth surface,

(f) At a piece of a paper takes irregular or diffused reflection because it has uneven surface.

Answer:

1. Speed Of Light- 3 × 10^8 m/s

2. If the image of the toy 2.5m away then the distance between the toy and the plane mirror is also 2.5 m

3. Two examples of Natural Luminous objects- Sun, Stars

Explanation:

1. It is a fact.

2. Since Image distance = Object distance

3. Luminous Objects- They produce their own Light.
