From the given question : -

  • Total sum of money = Rs 2400
  • Sum of ratios = 3 + 4 + 5 = 12

Ratio of P is 3 : -

= > Amount of P = Total amount / Sum of ratios x ratio of P

= > Amount of P = ₹ 2400 / 12 x 3

= > Amount of P = ₹ 200 x 3 = ₹ 600

Ratio of Q is 4 : -

= > Amount of Q = Total amount / Sum of ratios x ratio of Q

= > Amount of Q = ₹ 2400 / 12 x 4

= > Amount of Q = ₹ 200 x 4 = ₹ 800

Ratio of R is 5 :

= > Amount of R = Total amount / Sum of ratios x ratio of R

= > Amount of R = ₹ 2400 / 12 x 5

= > Amount of R = ₹ 200 x 5 = ₹ 1000

When a new amount of Rs 200 is added to their previous amount :

= > Ratio of new amounts = ( New amount of P ) : ( New amount of Q ) : ( New amount of R )

= > Ratio of new amounts = ( ₹ 200 + ₹ 600 ) : ( ₹ 200 + ₹ 800 ) : ( ₹ 200 + ₹ 1000 )

= > Ratio of new amounts = ( ₹ 800 ) : ( ₹ 1000 ) : ( ₹ 1200 )

= > Ratio of new amounts = 8 : 10 : 12

= > Ratio of new amounts = 4 : 5 : 6

Hence the required new ratio is 4 : 5 : 6 .
