Rubber made by vulcanization is a better material. Vulcanized rubber properties include greater tensile power, resistance to puffiness and abrasion, and stretchiness over a wider span of temperatures.

The lengthy long polymer chains present in uncured rubber move by itself and thus the material gets deformed permanently. Crosslinking, which is brought in by vulcanization put a stop to the polymer chains moving independently.

The result is that on stress being applied the rubber that has been vulcanized get deformed and on the stress being released it slips back to its original form.
