ruby is 3 times as old as her son. After 12 years, her age will be 2 times of her son. find their present ages.

Let Her son age=x years
then Ruby age =3x years
Let your is 12 years
then what is after 12 years simply 12 +12=24 years
Just like son age after (x+12)years
and Ruby age will( 3x+12) years
Now you may understand
now question says 2 times of her son then a/q
2(x+12)=3x+12
2x+24=3x+12
3x-2x=24-12
x=12 years
Means her son age =12 years
and her mother is 3 times older than son=12×3=36 years
Son=12year
