When we remove an electron from the outermost shell the no of electrons decreases which leads to the decrease in screening effect of the electrons which in turn lead to the increase in attraction between the nucleus and the outermost electrons thus leading to contraction
Rb+ is smaller in size than Rb
I hope this helps ( ╹▽╹ )
