Rules:-

  1. Remove all the commas, inverted commas, questions marks.
  2. Use the connetive 'that'.
  3. 'said to ' change into 'told'.
  4. In interrogative sentence use asked, inquired, etc.
  5. In exclamatory sentence use exclamatory mark and use the connetive ' exclaimed '.
  6. In Imperative sentence use advised, requested, commanded, ordered,prayed, etc.
  7. Don't use 'that'in Imperative sentence and Introgative sentence.

Rules to change a sentence from direct to indirect :

⭐ Convey the message given by the first person to the third person is termed as indirect speech.

⭐ The person who conveys is the second person to whom the first person told the compliment or a sentence.

✴ Indirect speech is a report on what someone else said or wrote without using that person's exact words.

Words of direct speech will turn to indirect in the following way :

⭐ Now - Then

⭐ Today - That day

⭐ Last night - previous night

⭐ Said - Told

⭐ Will be - would be

  • My sister said, "Tomorrow's my birthday."

My sister told that tomorrow is her birthday.

  • My dad said, "Where is my pen?"

My dad asked where his pen was.

  • My friend said, "Did you watch the new movie?"

My friend asked me if I watched the new movie.
