it occurs due to change in the mediums such as rarer to denser. it largely occurs in water.the rules are-
the object must be kept an an certain angle.
the medium must be rarer or denser.

Vickyvic: Really helped for tomorrow's exam thx
adityakhairnar: which school
adityakhairnar: pls mark it the brainliest
adityakhairnar: some more rules-
adityakhairnar: a ray of light moves towards the normal when it passes from rarer to denser medium and away from the normal when passes through the denser to the rare medium

rules of refraction:
*the incident ray ,the refracted ray and the normal lies on the same plane.
*incident ray coming from one medium rarer to denser medium bends towards normal and incedent ray coming from denser to rarer bends away from normal.
*sinei/siner=constant {refractive index},the ratio of sine of angle of incident to the sine of angle of refraction for the light of the given colour is costant for the pair of media .it is also know as snells rule

ChaEunSang: mark it as brainliest plzz
