Rupak and manavikaran Alankar are not same
In rupak Alankar, due to the most similarity between upman and upmaya, upmeya and upman are written one after one like-
Mahant-wasant
Actually it's meaning is" mahant rupak wasant"
Generally in rupak Alankars there is
" - " between upman and upmeye.
But in case of manavikaran alankar, non human things like plants , animals , clouds , stone , birds are compared with humans , like
Megh aye bade ban than ke sawar ke
In this example Megh means clouds is compared to a human who cames in with full preparations.

In rupak alankar ,upmey and upmaan ko ek kar diya jata hai. ( upmey ka mathlab :- jis vyakti ya vastu ki samanta ki jati hai, aur upmaan ka mathlab:- jis prasidh vastu ya vyakti SE upmey ki samanta ki jati ho.)
But in manvikaran( I.e. in English- personification), praniyo ya padartho par manviya bhavanao ka aarop hota hai.
Hope this helps you...
