Rusting of iron is much faster in the rainy season as compared to any other season because rusting of iron occurs only when iron comes in the contact of moisture and oxygen. In the rainy season, maximum amount of moisture is present in the air which results in the rusting of iron.

Rusting is seen mostly during raining seasons because during rainy season the air is very moist and the air contains plenty of water vapours.

1)Rusting is nothing but a layer of iron oxide that gets formed on a metal.

2)Iron in the metal reacts with oxygen in the presence of water vapours to form iron oxide which is the rust we see.

3)Water vapour is very important for the reaction to take place and since in rainy season we have plenty of water vapour in the air ,rusting is seen during rainy seasons.
