ᴘʀᴏʙʟᴇᴍ:-

ғɪɴᴅ ᴛʜᴇ ᴇǫᴜᴀᴛɪᴏɴ ᴀɴᴅ sᴏʟᴠᴇ ғᴏʀ ᴋ: ʏ ᴠᴀʀɪᴇs ɪɴᴠᴇʀsᴇʟʏ ᴀs x ᴀɴᴅ ʏ = 6 ᴡʜᴇɴ x = 18.

sᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ:-

The relation y varies inversely as x translate to,

\sf\rightarrow{y =  \frac{k}{x}}.

To find k, we have to substitute the values:

\sf\rightarrow{y=\frac{k}{x}}

\sf\rightarrow{6=\frac{k}{18}}

\sf\rightarrow{k=(6)(18)}

\sf\rightarrow{k={\color{magenta}{108}}}

ᴀɴsᴡᴇʀ:-

\begin{gathered}\begin{gathered}\begin{gathered}\sf{{The\:equation \: of \: variation\: is\:{y = \frac{108}{x}}}}\\ \end{gathered}\end{gathered} \end{gathered}
