Given :   A number line and in unit distance numbers with denominators 2, 3 and 4 to be represented on a single number line

To find : In how many parts number line to be divided

Solution:

To represent number with Denominators

2 , 3 & 4  on unit distance

we need to find LCM of 2 , 3  & 4

=  12

Hence we need to Divide  number line in twelve Parts

1/12  , 2/12  , 3/12  , 4/12 , 5/12 , 6/12 , 7/12 , 8/12 , 9 /12 , 10/12 , 11/12

3/12  = 1/4

4/12 = 1/3

6/12  = 1/2

Hence we need to divide number line in 12 Parts
