PREFACE:
Swami Vivekananda was born on 18 January 1863 at the Shimla Rally in Calcutta under the name of Narendranath Dutt.
His father, Vishwanath Dutt, was a lawyer in the Calcutta High Court, and mother Bhuvaneshwari Devi was a housewife.
He was the chief follower of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and later became the founder of the Ramakrishna Mission.

Vivekananda left for Chicago on 31 May 1893 for the Parliament of World Religions, he represented India and gave a speech at a conference introducing Hinduism to the world which made him very popular.
When Swami Vivekananda began his speech with “Sisters and Brothers of America”, a crowd of 7000 spectators took a 2-minute pause.
He continued his speech and talked about India’s ancient culture, tolerance, universal brotherhood, etc.
