(a) The process of sex determination of the child of the child.

An egg is released in the body of female every month. This egg has cells with X chromosome. Note that X chromosome is an indicator  of female offspring and Y chromosome is a sign of male offspring. When this egg is fertilized by the sperm of the male cell, fetus starts to develop.

Now the chromosomes present in the male cell may be X or Y, and this on fusing with the X chromosome of the female cell, determines the sex of the offspring.

So, a female egg always has X chromosomes, while chromosomes in male sperms can be X or Y. So, it is very clear that male sperms determine the sex of the child. Hence, it is Sahil who is determinant of the sex of the child.

(b) Deepak has shown that he is educated, aware and practical. It is wrong to blame the mother for giving birth to a girl/boy.  He has also very convincingly educated Sahil about the process and resolved the dispute.

Sex Determination Process

There are X & Y Chromosome which determine Sex

XX - FEMALE

XY - MALE

Now at time of fertilization process

one chromosome comes from Father and one from Mother

so Female will always give X

Now its father's chromosome   will decided sex of baby

if its X then its Female

if its Y then its Male.
