What is the perimeter of each semicircular shape disc?

Solution:

The radius of the circular disc, r = 14 cm

∴ The diameter of the circular disc, d = 2 × r = 2 × 14 = 28 cm  

We know,$\boxed{\bold{Circumference\:of\:a\:semicircle = \frac{1}{2}\times [Circumference\:of\:a\:circle] = \frac{1}{2}\times 2\pi r }}$

∴ The circumference of the semi-circle is,

= $\frac{1}{2}\times 2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times 14$

= $2 \times 22$

= $\bold{44\:cm}$

Now,

The perimeter of the semi-circular shaped disc is,

= [Circumference of the semi-circle] + [Diameter]

= 44 + 28

= 72 cm

Thus, the perimeter of each semicircular shape disc is → 72 cm.
