The Motor Vehicle Act 1988 has introduced various new rights for the benefit of people who meet with motor vehicle accidents. These rights benefit people in two instances as given below:


*Compensation for family members in the range of Rs.50,000/- to Rs.1,00,000/- in case of the death of the person due to the use of a motor vehicle.


*Injury to a person’s body because of an accident when using a motor vehicle.


The Act also gives detailed information about legislative procedures pertaining to license of drivers and conductors, motor vehicles registration and permits, traffic regulations, penalties and offences, insurance, and more.

 Motor Vehicle act 1988 implement some basic right for the general public . This act is very beneficial for the people who get caught in the vehicle accidents.

This act was the replacement for the previous one which was just the repeated amendment of 1938 act. The Act gives the proper detain and the legislative procedure for the drivers as well as the conductors . It also give information for the process of vehicle registration and other traffic laws and regulations. People who break the law have to face the penalties according to this act. This act alo states the compensation for the members if any person accidently died during the accident. The compensation amount was proposed to be upto 100000 rupees
