Salt and sugar takes the shape of container although they are solid ?

When sugar and salt are kept in a container they appear to take the shape of the container. The shape of each crystal of sugar or salt does not change irrespective of the container they are kept in.

Thus they justify the property of fixed shape and size and are considered to be solids.
