law \: of \: constant \: proportion

states that no matter a chemical compound is obtained from any source it will contain the same element combined in a definite proportion by weight.

Now , we have taken NaCl from two different sources both these salt contains Na as well as Cl

right.

source \: 1

Let NaCl be 100g , then Na is 39.52g (given)

So , Cl would be 60.48g .

That is Na : Cl = 40 : 60 or 2:3 , right ._______(1)

source \: 2

Given , 2.5 g NaCl contains 0.982 g of Na

So, 100 g of NaCl will contain 39.28g of Na

and thus, Cl would be 60.48g.

That is , Na : Cl = 40 :60 or 2:3 , right _______(2)

Now, we can state that the above reaction is in accordance to Law of Constant Proportion or definite proportion.

Hope it helps you !!
