hey!

In that case an example of an alkali with no metal ion is ammonium hydroxide.

-When a base and an acid react, a salt and water is formed. The salt formed after ammonium hydroxide reacts with an acid is an ammonium salt which has no metal ion.Equation example:

   NH4OH(aq) + HCl(aq) --------->  NH4Cl(aq) + H2O(l)

-as seen above the ammonium salt contains no metal ion.
