Samasamu is nothing but combining of two words without any conjunction or preposition.

For example in English we say either ‘knight of a king’ or ‘king’s knight’. Both give the same meaning.

Likewise in Telugu you can say ‘రాజు యొక్క భటుడు’ or ‘రాజభటుడు’ both meaning the same.

రాజభటుడు (raja bhatudu) is a samasamu. Here two words రాజు(raju) and భటుడు(Bhatudu) are combined.

రాజు(raju) became రాజ(raja) when it is combined with భటుడు(Bhatudu).

Name of this samasamu is షష్టీ తత్పురుష సమాసము (Sashti tatpurusha samasamu)
