Let the class 9 books be represented by x and class 10 books by y.

Now for Sangeeta's case ,

2x + 3y = 250.

So , 2x + 3y - 250 = 0 is equation 1.

And for Meenu ,

4x + 6y = 500.

So , 4x + 6y -500 =  0 is equation 2.

Equation 1 and 2 are the algebraic representations

Put some value for x ,you get value of y.

Mark the points on graph you will get parallel lines , that is the graphical representation.
