She was born on 17 March 1990 in City in Haryana , Hisar

Saina Nehwal is the daughter of Harvir Singh and Usha Nehwal.

Her parents were former State Badminton Champions. Dr Harvir Singh encouraged her daughter to take up game of badminton.

She is the first Indian badminton player to have won an Olympic medal.

She got Olympic medals in Badminton at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Women's singles, and in Badminton at the 2018 Asian Games – Women's singles .

The yearly estimated salary of Saina Nehwal is around $300,000.

In 2006, Saina Nehwal became the first Indian woman to win a super-series tournament, the Philippines Open.
