Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Sanjay is looking for a one bedroom apartment on rent. At neelagiri apartment rent for the first two months is 20 percent off. The one bedroom rate at neelagiri is 6000 per month. At savana apartment the first month is 50 percent off. The one bedroom rate at savana apartment is rs 7000 per month which apartment will be cheaper for the first two months By how much  ?

Given one bedroom rate at Neelagiri is Rs 6000 / month

So for first two months 20% off

20% of rent will be 20/100 x 6000

                             = 1200

So rent for first two months will be 2 (6000 – 1200)

                                                               = 2 x 4800

                                                              = Rs 9600

Now rent for first two months at Niligiri apartments is Rs 9600

50% off for first month at Savana apartments and also rent for bedroom is Rs 7000 / month

So 50% off will be 50/100 x 7000

                               = Rs 3500

Therefore rent for first month will be 7000 – 3500

                                                      = Rs 3500

Now rent for two months in Savana apartment is 3500 + 7000

                                                                             = 10,500

Now comparing rent of both the apartments we get

                                                        Rs 10500 – Rs 9600

                                                             = Rs 900

Therefore Neelgiri apartment will be cheaper by Rs 900.
