Given : Sanjeev took 95 minutes to travel from home to office. The office is 7km from his home. On the way he spent 25 minutes at the tea shop.

To Find :  at what average speed did Sanjeev travel in metres/minute

Solution:

Sanjeev took 95 minutes to travel from home to office.

On the way he spent 25 minutes at the tea shop

Total Time taken = 95 + 25 = 120 minutes

60 minutes = 1 hr

Hence 120 minutes = 2 hrs

Total Time taken =  2 hrs

Distance covered = 7 km

Average speed = Total Distance / Total Time

=>  Average speed = 7/2

=> Average speed = 3.5 km/hr

1 km = 1000 km

7 km = 7000 m

average speed   in metres/minute  = 7000/120

= 700/12

= 175/3

= 58.33 meters/minute

appropriate equation  for  Average speed = 7 * 1000 / (95 + 25 )
