Given:

sarita purchases biscuits costing ruppees 158 on which rate of sales has is 6%. she also purchases some cosmetic goods costing ruppees 354 on which the rate of sales tax is 9% .

To find:

Find the total amount paid by sarita?

Solution:

From given, we have,

Sarita purchases biscuits costing rupees 158 on which rate of sales has is 6%.

Total amount paid for biscuits

= 158 + 6% of 158

= 158 + 6/100 × 158

= 158 + 9.48

= Rs. 167.48

She also purchases some cosmetic goods costing rupees 354 on which the rate of sales tax is 9%.

Total amount paid for cosmetic goods

= 354 + 9% of 354

= 354 + 9/100 × 354

= 354 + 31.86

= Rs. 385.86

The total amount paid by Sarita is 167.48 + 385.86 = Rs. 553.34

Therefore, the total amount paid by Sarita is Rs. 553.34
