Climate Change: The Earth is under threat.

By - Satish

Today, the global temperature is on rise rapidly and it is causing a great impact on earth and the lives of all living things. Human activities such as burning fossil fuels, plastics, industries, etc., release a great deal of carbon monoxide into the air. It is a harmful gas that depletes the ozone layer which protects the earth from direct UV rays of the Sun.

With the depletion of ozone layer and excess release of carbon monoxide in the atmosphere, it leads to the rise in earth's temperature. The earth becomes hotter and warmer which ultimately causes sea level changes as the Arctic and the North Pole slowly starts to melt its huge glaciers.

This does not only affect the sea level but it also leads to climate change. The effect of climate change adversely affects rain precipitation, seasonal order, flora and fauna, etc. It affects not only humans but is also an existential threat to all living things on earth.

Answer:

Explanation:

A serious hazard to humanity today is global warming or climate change. There are many factors contributing to the increase in Earth's temperature, including greenhouse gases produced by burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2).

Green house gas effects:

The rise in carbon dioxide (CO2) levels causes a significant rise in temperature. It is due to the fact that CO2 stays concentrated in the atmosphere for a very long time. Humans are responsible for the rise in atmospheric CO2 concentration through activities including burning fossil fuels for transportation, heating, and electricity production.

Global Warming: A Progressive Observation

The extremely warm weather in recent years has alarmed people all around the world. However, the deforestation of a significant portion of North America's eastern coast and other forested regions of the planet actually caused the rise in carbon dioxide to start in 1800. Following the industrial revolution, problems grew worse due to emissions, which caused the level of carbon dioxide to rise by 1900.

Reason for Concern:

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) predicts that by 2100, the average global temperature would have risen by around 1-3.5 Celsius. Additionally, it has been predicted that during the next 100 years, the temperature may rise by as much as 10 degrees Fahrenheit.
