SATURATED HYDROCARBONS ARE THE ONES WHICH HAVE A SINGLE BOND BETWEEN CARBON - CARBON ATOMS.

UNSATURATED HYDROCARBONS ARE THE ONES WHICH HAVE A DOUBLE OR TRIPLE BOND BETWEEN CARBON- CARBON ATOMS.

saturated hydrocarbon having a single bond between the carbon atom

it will give a clean flame on burning

unsaturated hydrocarbons having double or triple bonbetween the carbon atom

yellow flame with lot of black smoke while burning
