Human Nervous system have 1] Nerves 2] Neurons 1. Nerves form a network and are spread throughout the body 2. Neurons are specialized cell which are capable, converting and transmitting stimulus into electro impulses. Neurons are the functional unit of human nervous system which consists of :- 1) Dendrites 2) Cell body 3) Axon 1. Dendrites are the specialized tips of the neurons which are short branch like structures. They are capable of converting stimulus to electric impulses. 2. Cell body help to synthesis of impulses. 3. The electric impulses are further carried on Axon. Axon is stem like structure. It ends with some thin hair like structures called Axon terminals. 4. There is a microscopic distance between Axon terminals of each neurons. This gap is known as Synapse. Between the Synapse, impulses are further carried on with the help of neurotransmitters. Neuroglia is a type of cells which assist the neurons in their function. Human Nervous System have 3 parts 1. Central Nervous System 2. Peripheral Nervous System 3. Autonomous Nervous System 1. Central Nervous System (CNS) consists of brain and spinal cord 2. Peripheral Nervous System (PNS) consists of nerves arising from central nervous system 3. Autonomous Nervous System (ANS) consists of the nerves is involuntary Organs like heart, stomach, etc.
