Q7 :- define homogeneous mixture ?

Ans :- Homogeneous mixture is the type of mixture in which  two or more components are mixed and have the uniform distribution of them all over, hence they can not be separated.

Q8 :- write few example for heterogeneous mixtures ?

Ans :- Oil in water, soil are examples of heterogeneous mixtures.

Q9 :- what is meant by solvent ?

Ans :- A solution has two components: a solute and a solvent. Solute is that component which has to be dissolved, and it is present in small quantities, whereas solvent is the component in which the solute is dissolved, and it is present in large quantities. For example - in salt solution, small amount of salt is dissolved in water, thus, water is the solvent and salt is the solute.

Q10 :- what type of mixture is "solution". give an example for solution ?

Ans :- A solution is a homogeneous mixture of two or more substances. Example - sugar solution, salt solution, alloys etc.

Properties -

1. The particles of a solution are smaller than 1 nm (10-9 metre) in diameter.

2. They do not scatter a beam of light passing through the solution. So, the path of light is not visible in a solution.

3. A solution is stable. The solute particles cannot be separated from the mixture by the process of filtration.
