X2 + 3x + 1 = (x-2)2

X2 + 3x + 1 = x2 + 4 - 2x

3x + 2x = 4 - 1

5x = 3

5x - 3= 0

No it is not a quadratic equation

Given Equation is x^2 + 3x + 1 = (x - 2)^2

⇒ x^2 + 3x + 1 = x^2 + 4 - 4x

⇒ x^2 + 3x + 1 - x^2 - 4 + 4x = 0

⇒ 7x - 3 = 0

Since, highest power is 1 not 2, It is not in the form of ax^2 + bx + c = 0.

Therefore, it is not a quadratic equation.

Hope it helps!
