The phanerogams are divided into 2 groups They are :-

1. Gymnosperms.
2. Angiosperms.

GYMNOSPERMS :-

 1. They produce naked seeds.
 2. They are non - flowering plants.
Ex - Pine and cycas.

ANGIOSPERM :-
1. Their seeds are covered with the fruit.
2. They are flowering plants.
Angiosperm are divided into two categories - Monocots (having one cotyledon) & Dicots ( having two cotyledons ).
