Scientific name of gold is aurum and phosphorus does not have any Scientific name  .Phosphorus got its name because it glows in the dark.

TPS: But the symbol we write for an element, those are taken from the name of the element in latin....like Au for Aurum, Pb from Plumbum etc....

the scienticfic name of gold is aurum [Au] and phosphorus does'nt have any scienific name.
