In this process, acetyl coA obtained during the process of pyuruvate decarboxylation reacts with oxaloacetic acid to form citric acid ( six-carbon compound). Krebs cycle is a sequential process that follows many cyclic steps and results in the oxidation of acetyl coA thus generating energy necessary 1 the survival of the cells. It is a part of cellullar respiration.
