It is a type of football game, in which the ball is carried by the players and tossed. The origin of Rugby was in England in the year 1871. But the Romans are said to be the originators of this game as they were known to play games with balls which involved kicking the ball and tossing it.
The original Rugby team which was formed in the year 1845, was split into two parts, today known as the Rugby Union and the Rugby league. The Rugby league initially used the rules formulated by the Rugby union only but later on they formulated their own set of rules and regulations.
