Answer: The story “A Snake in the Grass” is written by the story writer R.K. Narayan. The story is about the family living in southern part of India where the cobra are honored and feared by the people. And they cannot kill it. It is believed that it will bring bad luck to them.
Someone saw a cobra in the yard. The sleepy servant, Dasu brings a pot claiming that it contains the cobra. He went out to give it to snake charmer.
After few moments, they found a cobra coming out of the hole. They thought that maybe there're two snakes. The eldest son wished to check the pot of Dasu before he went out. As he lied to the family.
