They also have swim bladder which helps them to take control over the buoyancy and these are classified as bony fish. The sea horse has interlocking plates on the body and the spine of it is made of bone.

The classification of species happens based on their features specified in that particular class.

Explanation:

Classification of organisms is done based on the features an organism exhibits. All organisms having similar features are categorized into a single class.

Pisces is a class which is known for its aquatic habitat, ability of swimming and buoyancy, mode of respiration, food consumption, mode of reproduction etc.

• Sea horse lives like fishes and so falls under Pisces. It is called as a sea horse because its head resembles a horse and it has an upright posture unlike other aquatic organisms.

Mammalia is a class of organisms which have mammary glands to feed their offspring. These are largely known to have a terrestrial habitat, highly developed systems of the body, go through internal fertilization and give birth to live young ones.

• Horse is an animal with mammary glands and hence is classified as mammal. They have all other features of the class of mammal.
