According to tangent-secant theorem: "When a tangentand a secant are drawn from one single external point to a circle, square of the length of tangentsegment must be equal to the product of lengths of whole secantsegment and the exterior portion of secant segment."

Secant =A line which intersect a circle in two distinct point is called a secant of a circle..
