Napoleonic Code, alternatively called as ‘French civil code of 1804’, defined the concept of equality before the law. The code helped decimate the feudal system that was plaguing Europe during French revolution.

This code consists of revolutionary principles which upholds the ideas of liberty, fraternity and equality.

The code aimed to simplify all the laws and bring them in a system.

It was 1804 when Napoleon Bonaparte made himself as the Emperor of France. As soon as he crowned himself as the emperor he introduced many principles and rules which made the system more effective and efficient.

Weight at measure system was also introduced by him which was more appropriate then before with the help of decimal system. Like this many of his reforms were exported under the French region.
