Veer Savarkar
Vinayak Damodar Savarkar was one of the country's
freedom fighters who believed that only a strong, armed
revolt could liberate India from the 'British'.
Savarkar was born on 28 May, 1883 in Nasik, White studying
at Pune's Fergusson College, he and a few hostelites formed
'Abhinav Bharat' an organisation whose aim was to set India
free. Savarkar Studied law in London where he started the
'free India society'. He was suspected to having a hand in
the killing of Sir Wyllie and was warned that he would get
his law degree only if he gave a written agreement that he
would give up his political activities. He refused.
